Description:
The fruit flies of the genus Bactrocera especially Bactrocera cucurbitae and Bactrocera dorsalis commonly called “Melon flies” and “Fruit flies” respectively are major pests in urban/kitchen/terrace gardens. They attack cucurbit vegetables like cucumber, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, and fruits like mango, guava, sapota, sitaphal (anona), etc. An eco-friendly solution to save your plants from these fruit fly attacks is to use “Multiplex Aakarshan”.
Symptoms of damage: Infested fruits/vegetables show oviposition punctures and typically become prematurely soft (with air pockets). Later they rot and exit holes in the rotten areas can be seen. The presence of maggots confirms the symptoms.
